General tips
The main telltale signs of Albania are the plates, the rifts, and the old Mercedes. Albania has sky rifts in its coverage like Senegal and Montenegro. Like Italy, it has plates with a vertical blue stripe on both sides instead of only on the left like most of Europe. For some reason, Mercedes-Benz cars are extremely popular in Albania, and you see lots of old Mercedes on the roads.Plates
Most Albanian plates have blue strips on both the left and right, instead of the customary left only. However, older plates have no blue strips, just a red/pinkish strip on the left instead, and these plates are still fairly common.Road markings
Most road markings are white with dashed inner lines and white outer lines, but yellow solid lines can be used to split the traffic.Road signs
Albania's directional signs are blue, and warning signs are standard red and white. Road numbers start with 'SH' or 'E'.Bollards
Bollards aren't as commonplace in Albania as they are in some European countries, but they aren't unheard of.Poles
Street lamps in cities are cylindrical and metal. Electricity lines are usually above ground and supported by wooden poles.Scenery
Albania's scenery is very hilly, green, and warm-feeling. Large shrub-covered sandy mountains spill over the greek border to the south.Architecture
Tiled roovesMiscellaneous
Rifts are common in Albania's coverage, but not quite as common as they are in Montenegro. The eastern Europe antenna is visible in Albania's coverage.
