Italy's quickest giveaways are the double-blue-strip plates and the Italian language. In Italian, the majority of words end in vowels. Outside of large cities, look out for red rooves, which are very popular. The Italian landscape is very hilly.
Plates
Italian plates, like Albanian plates, have blue strips on both the left and the right. Modern French plates also have double blue strips, however Italy's are shorter compared to the rest of Europe, which makes them distinctive.
